Biography
Goodÿ, whose real name is Gilles EUGENE, is an artist-author from Guadeloupe, also registered in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Florida (until 2022), and present in private, public and museum collections.
For more than 23 years, he has advocated sincerity of work and respect for the freedom of artistic expression in its diversity and its global cultural plurality. Artist listed since 2018, his work is the subject of several magazine covers in Guadeloupe, with some publications in various and specialized publications in Europe as in Art Majeur and Art Absolument or in Cameroon with Glance Magazine.
Active member of various professional organizations, MAPRAA (Maison des Arts Plastiques Auvergne Rhône-Alpes), CAAP (Comité des Artistes-auteurs et Artistes-autrices Pluridisciplinaires, of which he is the regional delegate for Guadeloupe), and USOPAVE (Union of Trade Unions and Professional Organizations of Visual Arts and Writing, as a qualified Personality), Goodÿ promotes the professionalization of the visual arts and the economic structuring of the activity as well as the art market in Guadeloupe, with the implementation of various tools such as SODAVI.
From 2000 to 2014, Goodÿ exhibited mainly in Guadeloupe, France and Martinique where he was spotted by the Clément Foundation in 2011. From 2015, he began exhibiting in various countries such as Italy, Portugal, London, Russia or Florida, to make himself known. There he obtained some honorary titles, notably in Italy. In 2020, he won the bronze medal, in the Contemporary Figuration category, at the 2019 International Prize for Art Professionals, awarded by the International Jury of the "Mondial Art Academia".
Although having a very dense professional activity with more than 30 individual exhibitions, and nearly 13 collectives, its socio-economic involvement, as well as in the heritage promotion of its territory of birth, has never wavered. Thus, since 2010, and even more from 2017 to 2020, his growing professional success, he is involved in other economic sectors of his territory with a commitment that will earn him significant financial difficulties following the COVID crisis. Since then, he has refocused on his main economic and entrepreneurial activity: Artist-author.
